Equal Voice is excited to be hosting Daughters of the Vote (DOV) again in 2021.
Daughters of the Vote (DOV) is a historic and ambitious youth leadership program which, in 2017 and 2019, brought together 338 diverse and dynamic young women (one for every federal riding in the country) to Ottawa to mark the 100th anniversary of some women getting the right to vote in Canada, and the still incomplete journey of women’s full participation in politics today.
Thanks to multi-year support from the Government of Canada, and from our valued public and private sector partners, Equal Voice will be hosting DOV again on March 5th-8th. In light of the ongoing pandemic, Daughters of the Vote will be hosted online this year, to ensure the health and safety of all involved.
Although the format of the program may be changing, our goal remains the same: to equip and inspire this next cohort of emerging young women and gender diverse leaders to participate in the formal political sphere and to take action in their local communities.
DOV aims to be one the highest profile gatherings of young women leaders on International Women’s Day 2021, and we’d love for you to be a part of it too.
Stay tuned for more details on how to register and have access to select DOV sessions, including keynote addresses from high profile politicians and our virtual parliament day on March 8th.
